Over the next few months we are going to be experimenting with our newsletter. Our goal is to give you a more genuine insight into our work and our thoughts both personal and professional. Sure we'll still let you know about new projects, works in projects and Pre-Release stuff. But we want this to be more than just what you see in our instagram feed. Please send feedback, it is much appreciated.

We hope this is cool with you. We think it will be better :)

Summer reading.

Every once in a while you come across someone's work and you're like WOW, that person is really really good at what they do. Whether its while watching someone miraculously and meticulously fix your about to explode washing machine (that happened), or while reading a book.

I had this thought a few months ago, over and over again while reading Sloane Crosley's second book of essays "Look Alive Out There". "She's SOOO good at this storytelling thing!!!"(my thought on repeat the entire time). Crosley's writing is hilarious, profound and personal. She crafts narrative and builds a reader's experience of her stories in a way that is delicate and deliberate. Dancing around with seeds until you suddenly find yourself BAM deep in a tall thick forest.

After finishing, I naturally set out to read all her other work. I went to another book of essays written 10 years earlier called "I was told there'd be cake". Great title, entertaining. But to be honest it wasn't that good. I got through it though, the whole time very conscious of what I was reading as a younger author practicing, who was ok, but not yet awesome. Even better than finding someone really good at their job is seeing traces of how they got there.

Sloane Crosley, I'm a super fan!

If you've ever been curious about Machine Learning. Runway is your gateway ML tool. It's awesome. It's free. What started as an ITP project (woot woot!) is now a very fleshed out platform to explore many popular ML models with a super intuitive interface.

I've been playing around with it for a few months and I think their vector exploration UI is dead on. You don't need to know how to code. In as little as 5 clicks, you can start generating portraits or using ML to identify objects in photos (or any of the other 40+ ML models).

If you know how to code, there's plenty more you can do. Importing your own models from github is a feature that just launched, and soon 🤞 there will be a feature to train models with your own data.💥🤯
