Snakes. Brrrr.

-

I'm writing on what feels like the first properly cold day of winter in Brooklyn. Last night we made a crown with snakes on it for our little guy to wear on Halloween and this morning he colored over the whole thing with thick red oil pastel to make it look scarier...

Shooting summer for winter... Back in May our friend Shantell Martin, (you know that super dope artist that draws on everything) invited us to her photo shoot upstate for a collection she designed with The Northface. For us it felt like a date (we hadn't spent any time just the two of us since the pandemic began!). We got to hang out with great people, eat yummy food and stand around in really awesome and cozy clothes on a blistering spring day. It was sweaty. I could use one of those coats just about now :)

Weekend activity.

-

Every once in a while we do an exercise where we sketch out how we spend our days. Mostly we do this in moments of exhaustion, in what feels like some sort of emotional crisis, or when it really feels like our days are just getting away from us and we're not balancing our time in a way that is fulfilling.

In any case, it's a helpful exercise to pick up at any moment. You should try it. And let us know if you learned anything.

I did this exercise over the summer and realized I was often spending 5+ hours a day driving our kids around. It was harrowing, but caused me to compensate in other places to make up for that.
