Really liking this prototype for a rotating, spring loaded cam mechanism we're working on. The project involves decommissioned scuba tanks. It's missing a bunch of parts, including a solenoid and will eventually be made out metal.Â

Beacons are so cool.Â

We've been doing some research for an upcoming project and I was reminded of a strobe I used to watch all the time as a kid growing up in Montreal. There was something magical about locating this massive light in the sky, watching it disappear and rediscovering it a few seconds later. I haven't thought about it in forever and found this picture of the beacon itself taken by photographer J-F Savaria. Apparently, the beacons never stop spinning during they day or else they will melt the glass reflectors.
