Fun. Games.
Some highlights from this week include carving chunks of soapstone with the kiddos, learning Checkers and Mancala and building an Othello set.Â
Carving soapstone was an activity I used to do with my Nana when I was a kid. She'd give us small chunks of stone, files and rasps and off we went. A few months ago she closed her sculpture studio and sent me a bunch of her tools. We facetimed Nana as we got to work.Â
Last night, Che-Wei made an Othello board out of pennies and a piece of wood. This is such a great game for any age...as long as you're not eating the pennies.
I also want to say, our house is not always fun and games. This morning I got more angry at our 7 year old than I have ever been. Ever.
Discord.Â
We are soft launching a studio Discord! Â Anyone is welcome to join. We're hoping to use this space to share our general mess, our little victories and failures in studio. We'll be sharing experiments, projects in progress, problems we are struggling to solve, things we figure out, articles we are interested in, etc.
We'd love to get to know you too! Join and share what you're working on or things you find interesting.Â
This is all new to us, so we're just hoping to create a space where we all enjoy each other's company. Help us shape it into something great!
If any of that sounds interesting to you, please join!
On Monday and Tuesday we'll be posting pics of our process making Batchdrop 003 (sold out).
With love and hugs,
Che-Wei + Taylor
