This morning.Â
This morning resting in a cup in the annex I glimpsed this anodized piece we did a couple months back. It was calling. And it feels like time to release a batch of these into the world. These are a bit trickier to make, with the high voltage greens and double slant transition. But we're doing it. The anodize finish looks cool, and feels so good to touch...anodizing does that.
Batchdrop 009.
First Batchdrop of 2023 is this funky anodized Polished Titanium Pen Type-B. We'll make this batch early next week. So grab one before they all go. We're gonna make 10 of these. Each one a bit unique.
Josh made a special TSL for our photoshoot that we can reset when we take out the batteries. He also added this little tEStinG OnLy graphic after 23 hours and 59 minutes of counting. He is adamant this thing never makes it into the world, and so are we. That said, it was a mildly annoying surprise to have to disassemble this delicate setup when this appeared on day 2 of the shoot :p.
tEStinG OnLy.Â
We've been occupied most of this week shooting images of Time Since Launch Verson 2! This is our first (and probably last) upgrade with this piece. You can likely spy a few physical change in this image. (No, it doesn't defy gravity, that is fishing line). But the changes we're even more psyched about are happening behind the scenes with the electronics and software.Â
To start, we've swapped our RTC chip to something more accurate, and our microcontroller to a part we can reliably source. From there, the real gem is in insane power optimization in software. Josh (our electronics wizard friend) has gone super deep into the chip's insides to make Time Since Launch V2 last for over 150 years (it's really 200, but we say 150 to be safe) on the 2 x AA batteries it ships with. It's nuts. Insanity. We're so excited.Â
We'll update more on this in the coming weeks. Including more technical details. And we'll launch a pre-sale soon. But we just couldn't wait to shout this off a rooftop.
A couple good listens.Â
We had 2 podcasts go live this week. If you're not sick of us, give one or both a listen :), and be sure to check out + follow Hardeep and Eran's work.
Our chat with Hardeep on The Architecture of Contemplation, Hardeep is super reflective and articulate, we felt a bit fumbly but were blown away by her questions.
Our chat with Eran on ReMake. This was a really nice talk we had a few months ago. Eran made some thoughtful commentary edits to this one.
Aesthetic choices.Â
Pau came home with this crafty little mock smoke bomb. I do not support the making of anything even insinuating violence. But I do aspire to each and every one of the aesthetic choices made here.Â

P.S.
This coming Wednesday we're gonna drop some watches. Heads up. Tell your friends.
