In case you weren't convinced, we've got 2 more reasons to support 55 66 88 on Kickstarter.
Reason #1: On top of black, we're adding an option for a silver (clear anodize version of 55 66 88).
Reason #2 : We made a custom bright green (easy to find) special edition Pen Type-C with a custom drawn laser etched graphic of celebratory squiggles and encoded details. Will raise eyebrows. It's available only to campaign supporters, and it's pretty rad.

Light.
I had 40 minutes in Chelsea Tuesday night to go see Richard Avedon at Gagosian and then Trisha Donelly at Matthew Marks. My main mission was the Donelly show. Avedon was a bonus because a friend mentioned it's worth checking out the massive wall sized original prints, which it was. I couldn't stop imagining how they were made. Room sized enlarger projecting down from suspended scaffolding above a massive sheet of photo paper. Once exposed a swoosh of developer fluid floods the room. Stop. Fix. I have no clue.
I walked 3 blocks up to 24th to find my way to Matthew Marks. Trisha's a friend, a lovely lovely (times a gagillion) human. We know her as a fellow parent at our kid's school. But I've never seen any of her work in person. I just know she's spent the last many months in a dark room. The show hits you in your bones. It feels a bit scary. The strength of these small rectangles of light (or absence of) draw you in. You're not sure what you're looking at, subtleties conjure meaning, nothing to grasp, but what you're left with is feeling. It's refreshing to see work like that. Tender. Doesn't need explaining, or have some one-line easily digestible "concept". It just is. And fwiw, it wasn't just me. There were several other dazed gallery visitors there as well. If you are in NYC before June 17, go see this show.
With love and hugs,
