This just in.
Titanium Pen Type-B just arrived. So happy to have these things back finally. So if you've been waiting...
We also have polished Ti + Brass in stock. We're hoping for black ones in 2 ish weeks. Right now we're testing a new cerakote application to get things more consistent.
Holding pattern.
A shipment came in today of a cool new thing, but we've been in a bit of a holding pattern because of issues we've had repairing 55 66 88 (that piece of phone furniture we put on kickstarter last year). Which we honestly thought it would be a pretty easy project to have made, and went all in on a US manufacturer. So far we've sent out about 700 Kickstarter units and are waiting for another 700ish to be repaired. Sparing the tedious details, it's been tricky feeling out how to put out a new thing that feels a bit bigger than something we can make in house.
If you're one of those people still patiently awaiting your 55 66 88, thank you. We're really all hands on deck trying to get those out the door. Because if we can't, we have to keep that big box containing a new thing in the garage fooorreeeverrrr.
We're getting really excited about our seconds sale coming up next weekend. (It's Sunday the 19th from 2-5 in bedstuy...more details next week). A bunch of 55 66 88s will be there along with other stuff that has been kicking around studio. Some of which you could argue is even better than the firsts given they will have some flavor upgrade.
Today.
That's me and CW during some adventures in the city early today. First we visited artist + filmmaker Leopoldo Gout. He was super fun to meet with and had really fun positive vibes + an exiting underground world of creations. Then we ate an early lunch. Then we swung by OK uniform and struck up a conversation with Nick. This store has been around forever and is moving to mid-town. We learned today that store policy is not to sell anything over $99. Which I gotta say is so respectable especially in this wave of workwear going fashionista mainstream. They've resisted that wave in a way that is incredibly refreshing. Then we went uptown to TEFAF the fanciest art/design fair. I'm not sure why we went, but someone told CW to go. I did really like seeing some of the smaller, paper or lesser known works of artists like Paul Klee. Also lots of Jean Prouvé and a cool Noguchi table + chair. The art world is weird.
And finally, THE WEEKEND TAKEAWAY ...I can't remember the last time I liked a movie as much as Perfect Days. To be fair, I don't watch many movies. But this one, we both agree, is spectacular. So if you're gonna turn on your brightly lit rectangle this weekend. We highly recommend putting that on.
With love and hugs,
Che-Wei + Taylor
