Talking heads.
This morning we shot our video for a new project coming Tuesday. It's not the best video, but we don't hate each other.
That's a thing most people don't know, whenever we shoot a talking head video, we get into a huge fight. This morning before starting I joked, "It's divorce day". Che-Wei replied, "It is the worst day." and he looked at me, "Did you just say the worst day? or divorce day?". "I said divorce day." We laughed.
Maybe because we joked about it first, we preemptively squelched our usual fate. Che-Wei is much more comfortable than I am in front of the camera, or at least that's how it seems to me. He can kinda just casually talk about the thing, and sound calm and assertive. My main qualm is he can ramble, which is annoying because I'm usually editing the thing and I want it all under a minute. On the other hand, I tend to mumble, lose my train of thought or jump to a new thought mid-sentence. Also nightmare as an editor.
What usually ends up happening, is after a few takes, I get a sense of what the good lines are, the story I want to tell, and then I want us to say them again, but casually and naturally. You know, like professional actors. Che-Wei hates this and feels forced. And so I plead...please let's just try do it this way. It needs to be under a minute and I don't have a year to edit. And then while I say awkward and forced dumb things on camera, Che-Wei sits beside me, making wince and eye-roll angry face. His face, although warranted (maybe), is not invisible and it makes everything, from our video to my feelings worse. Again I plead, at least just pretend on your face! But he physically cannot. And then we have to be done for the day, figure out how to like each other again so we can try again some other time.
Notify me when I can see this video where you aren't angry.
Oh, did we mention we're launching a mechanical pencil? It's coming Tuesday.
Pencil Type-C coming soon.
We made a mechanical pencil. It's made from machined titanium. It's a lot like Pen Type-C, but a pencil.
Notify me on Launch.
Time Since Launch.
We had a weird bug in our programmer for Time Since Launch. We thought it might be something more ominous, but turned out to just be the programmer. So we're back in stock :)

Speaking of dimensions.
This week we finally finished the design files for a re-issue of Personal Body Unit Index. PBUI is a tool we made back in 2014 to help you use your body to measure things. While chatting about this in studio, Oliver mentioned the site dimensions.com... which blew our minds.
New bike storage shed.
I just found this photo on my phone Pau took this morning of ice crystals forming on a metal tray.
With love and hugs,
