Things I learned this week.

In solidarity with a Mom friend, this weds night I went to a screening of Mobile Suit Gundam (1981). To celebrate her 11 year old's bday, she took a small group of kids to a screening at the Angelika. And after some wildly inappropriate previews (horror cults + summer camps), I miraculously stayed awake to find out that when humans inhabit space, we become Newtypes, a genetic evolution that gives us the ability to sense each other across space and also connect telepathically with machines.

This was not my first encounter with Gundam, but it was my first time learning the lore.

I met Gundam for the first time in 2018. Tree was asleep. Pau was riveted.

I was impressed by the details of its construction.

Another time we hung out at night.

And I won't forget the time we ventured to Yokohama to check out a "life-sized" Gundam. The exhibit was closed, but we nonetheless braved the cold and heavy winds to get as close as possible to spy it's upper-body.

And this just in... the Cassowary is the worlds most dangerous bird.

Showroom in Tokyo.

Our work is going to be up in a showroom in Tokyo if you happen to be local and want to check it out. It will be alongside some other interesting brands. Let us know if you can make it, or just show up. Justine will be there showcasing our work.

Lichen.

These week we visited Lichen woodshop + showroom. If you don't know them, Lichen is a design incubator and studio centered around furniture and spatial design.

We had such a nice time discovering their spaces and learning more about their operation and values. If you're local to NYC, their showroom is open on weekends and is constantly cycling through interesting and accessibly priced special furniture/home goods pieces. It's a different vibe every time you go.

With love and hugs,
