Boost.

I almost skipped the newsletter today, but I got a boost of energy and super good vibes visiting Melitta Baumeister's studio this AM. It was really fun to hang with Michal, who we met a few weeks ago and discovered that he's the owner of more Kilos than anyone else. Actually I think Larissa, who works with their studio is who really likes and uses them :)

It was really refreshing to see the insides of a creative practice that from the outside seems so different from ours, but the insides are pretty much the same (except Michal takes really good care of their plants).

I have a deep respect for fashion houses, especially ones with small teams, who produce 2 full collections every year. This means that while they are creating a whole new collection, they are in production with the other. For Melitta Baumeister, each collection has around 100 unique pieces. In my head I thought 12 seemed like a reasonable and manageable number of pieces. Mind blown.

thank you. our hat game got a big upgrade.

Wildlife spottings.

Above is a muskrat? badger? mutant squirrel? ground hog? That's as good as our family could do guessing what that crazy looking animal we saw was this week in Montreal. It had a friend and they lived like kings in a trash heap in Saint-Henri.

Below is a treat I found yesterday on our stairs. Fortunately our friend gifted me (taylor), yes me not our kids, a bug snatcher/inspector. The creature was sluggish and easily snatched.

Material testing...

going for cork. might have to stick with silicone. last night we dishwashed to check durability. will repeat.

a new custom spring for TSL launch pin. it's not gonna work. the material is wrong and yields. next one maybe.

With love and hugs,
