Stuff in bags.

For over a year we've been wanting to make a banana phone for Pau (our 11 year old). A dumb phone, one that can only receive calls or call either me or CW. We've had parts and delayed cobbling them together for a long time. A few weeks ago and after a ton of SIM card nonsense CW got it to work. It's not a banana and has a few more controls, but it is a really crap phone that mostly dangles from its charger in the kitchen, unused.

One time Pau was headed out with his new phone, and Che-Wei asked him if he needed a bag for it. (It's too big for a pocket.) Pau grabbed a an empty crumpled crumb filled pastry bag off the kitchen table and dropped his phone inside. Perfect! Both me and CW thought at the same time.

This reminded me of when our friend Kunal carried his laptop around in a pizza box when we were in grad school[2008]. And also of Daniel Weil's "bag" radio [1981].

Vacuum forming electronics in a bag this morning.

This morning CW put a new thing in a bag and unsuccessfully vacuum formed it. It reminded me of "bag" radio and crumpled pastry bag phone carrier and pizza box laptop case.

Snatch in wild (in our kitchen).

Yesterday I carried some size 12 kids hockey skates to pickup to give to a friend.

Open Letters 001 is almost gone.

There are just a few packs of our first run of Open Letters left in stock. 001 will never be made again, so if you want one, now or never.

With love and hugs,
