Places we love.

I've had this note sitting as a draft for weeks. And now it is coming in awkward late on a Friday night. We were just walking home from dinner, talking about the week. Talking about how another week has passed and I haven't sent the newsletter. We also didn't have time today to launch our new High Speed Jump Rope, which will come Tuesday packaged with these new canvas roll pouches. These now ship for free with all our Jump Ropes. Right now it feels like we can make way faster than we can think, or process or publish.

One thing Che-Wei made is a website of our favorite places to go in cities we spend time. Montreal will come soon, and probably our Berlin map.

Places We Love

Tokyo Stockist.

Che-Wei sometimes talks about his childhood after school detours, wandering around shops in Tokyo. At dinner the other night, he told our boys that one of his favorite things to do as a kid was go shopping with his mom. He didn't care what it was for; food, clothes, household goods, it was all fun. As her company, he would trail behind, rummaging and touching everything, imagining one day he would become a clothing designer.

The first time we went to Tokyo together, Che-Wei showed me around all his favorite shops. Beams was at the top of the list, so it's pretty cool that CW&T goods are now available in Japan in person at Beams Roppongi Hills and online.

Come hang with us or Visit Future of Schools at the National Academy of Design.

Our friends at the School for Poetic Computation (SFPC) are part of Future Schools, a major exhibition at the National Academy of Design exploring alternative models for art education through installations, performances, workshops, and working classrooms.

Alongside artists and fellow educational organizations, SFPC presents work developed through its classes and public programs that explores computation, collective learning, and creative practice. If you're in New York this summer, it's well worth a visit before the exhibition closes.

Visit Future Schools:

Through August 22, 2026
Tuesday-Saturday, 12-6 PM

We'll be there hanging out on August 18 @ around 2PM!!!

Bugs.

Sitting by the playground in Kollwitzplatz, a small little green thing lands on me. Then another small, slightly differently shaped green thing. And then a brown thing. I have names for none of them.

In the nature that is NYC, I don't remember this diversity of winged insects. Or maybe I'm too busy defending against mosquitos so never noticed. Mosquito, ant, wasp, roach, fly and the lantern flies which we've been instructed to murder.

Playing low to the ground when the kids were younger we would meet and celebrate an occasional roly-poly. And it's been 15 years since cooking a chicken in a fire-pit in our yard in Brooklyn that Cesco said about an exotic visitor, "look, a stink bug".

We're back in NY and love home. The hot and stickiness makes it less pleasant to spend long amounts of time outside looking at bugs.

With love and hugs,

Che-Wei + Taylor
